Naya Kanga Peak, called Ganja La Chuli in Nepali, is a favorite trekking peak in Nepal situated in the Langtang region. Not only are there several peaks that are suitable for novice climbers to acclimatize and develop their climbing skills, this region more easily accessible than others and it still offers magnificent views of mountains in Nepal and Tibet.

Naya Kanga is an attractive peak rising to the West of the Ganja La, 5122m. From the summit of Naya Kanga you will see numerous majestic mountains in Nepal and Tibet including Langshisa Ri, 6370m, Pemthang Ri, 6836m, Langtang Lirung, 7425m, Pemthang Kapro Ri, 6830m and Langtang II, 6571m, Shisapangma, 8013m,

The trail to Naya Kanga follows the route of Langtang trek up to Kyangjin, 3749m. From Kangjin, we can climb either Kyangjin Ri ,4,700m or Tsergo Peak, (4984m to acclimatize and enjoy the majestic views.

The normal route of ascent to Naya Kanga Peak is the North-East face and the North ridge.

The Naya Kanga is one of the cheapest expeditions in Nepal; it only takes 12 days.

The best season for Naya Kanga Peak climbing is from March to May and from September to November. The duration of the Naya Kanga Peak trek can be lengthened or shortened according to your preference. Naya Kanga Peak Climbing Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Flying to Kathmandu is in itself an exciting and memorable experience. On a clear day you will get a panoramic view of the snow-capped Annapurna mountain range. In the airport, after completing the visa formalities, collect your luggage downstairs. As you exit the airport terminal, you will be met by our representative carrying your name on a signboard as well as our company signboard, Annapurna Foothills Treks & Expedition. You will be taken to your hotel in our vehicle, where you will be served free welcome drinks, tea or coffee or juice as you check in.

The Managing Director of our company will meet you in the hotel and provide more information about the expedition. Your dues must be cleared before we proceed on the trip. Afterward, you are free to relax or explore around the city.

Day 02: Preparation Day in Kathmandu We will finalize paperwork-permit for your trip and make a final check of your climbing equipment. In case you need additional trekking equipment, you will have a chance to buy it. Sightseeing tours of Kathmandu Valley are also an option.

Day 03 : Kathmandu –Syabru Besi 1505m We take a 9hr scenic drive north of Kathmandu along the Trishuli River Valley to Sybru Besi, via Dhunche village; Guesthouse accommodation.

Day 04: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel 2415m We trek 5hrs from Sybrubensi to Lama Hotel, walking along the Bhote Koshi river and Langtang Khola river passing through a village, Bamboo, which is famous for the red panda. Guesthouse accommodation.

Day 05: Lama Hotel to Langtang, 3430m We trek 6hrs from Lama Hotel to Langtang via Ghodatabela. At Ghodatabela, 3000m, the trail emerges from the forest; teahouse accommodation

06: Langtang Village to Kyanjing Gompa, 3870m The trail climbs gradually through small villages and yak pastures. As the valley opens out, the views become more extensive. After crossing several small streams and moraines, we reach the settlement at Kyangjin Gompa by about lunch time. There is a small monastery and a cheese factory. It is a dramatic setting, with a panorama of snow covered peaks surrounding us. From this point, you will see the Dorje Larpa, 6990m, Langtang Ri, 6370m, Langtang Lirung, 7245m and others. Overnight stay at lodge

Day 07: Rest day in Kyangjin Gompa We take a day off to acclimatize, explore and have a proper rest. We can climb Kyangjin Ri, 4350m, from where you get wonderful views of the snow-capped mountains. We can walk up the moraine to see the spectacular mountain ridges and undulating glaciers. Overnight stay at lodge

Day 08: Trek from Kyangjin Gompa to Nyengang Kharka, 4430m – 5hrs After descending for about twenty minutes you cross a suspension bridge over the Langtang Khola (stream) and then the trail moves uphill all the way to Nyengang Kharka. On both sides of your path you find juniper shrubs. You will also enjoy the views of Langtang Lirung and the Langtang Lirung glacier. Overnight in camp.

Day 09: Nyengang Kharka to Naya Kang High Camp, 4960m -4 hrs The trail ascends steeply along the rocky and icy glacier all the way to High Camp. Today you will enjoy the views of including Langshisa Ri, 6370m, Pemthang Ri, 6836m, Shisapangma, 8013m, Langtang Lirung, 7425m, Pemthang Kapro Ri, 6830m and Langtang II, 6571m and others. Overnight in camp.

Day 10: Summit Naya Kang Peak and Descend to Nyengang Kharka – 10hrs Starting early in the morning we will climb up to the Kangja La pass before crossing the moraine of the glacier and reaching the foot of the north-east ridge. Following the steep snow-covered ridge, the views as you look down into the valley on either side are breath-taking, and as you raise your eyes to the North the Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak and Dorje Lakpa. The final snow crest is quite narrow, and technically challenging. After reaching the summit, feasting your eyes on the view, you will descend to base camp, tired but definitely very satisfied with your efforts. Overnight in camp.

Day 11: Nyengang Kharka to Kyangjin Gompa – 4hrs You trek downhill back to the suspension bridge that crosses over Langtang Khola. Now you ascend for about twenty minutes to reach Kyangjin Gompa. Overnight stay at lodge.

Day 12: Trek to Lama Hotel 2784m

Day 13: Trek to Syabrubesi

Day 14: Drive to Kathmandu

Day 15: Free Day in Kathmandu After breakfast, there will be free time for souvenir shopping and other independent activities.

Day 16: Final departure Farewell and transfer to airport for final departure to destination country.
