Ramdung Go Peak Climbing

Ramdung which is also known as the Ramdung Go is one of the cluster of peaks. It situates in the south of the Na in the upper Rolwaling area. There is Pass around Yalunga La ahichh gives access to the upper Rolwaling from the south through Khare khola. These peaks in the area are first discovered by Scottish Himalayan expedition led by Bill Murray in 1952. In 1955, the Merseyside expedition ascent the peak second time. After that, the peak was climbed by numerous times. The mountain trail is straightforward. You could see the stunning and panoramic views of from Lantang to Everest. It also provides the magnificent view of Menlugtse and Gauri Shankar

The Climb: Northeast Face from the Yalung La

although this peak is not very high. But, the approach of the peak from Na covers a good distance and most parties require two high camps for the ascent. We set up the camp 1 at 4900 meters below the Yalung La. Climbing towards the pass and the snow camp 2 is placed on the broad glacier slopes east of the pass. Ascend the slopes of the Ramdung Glacier southwest of the subsidiary peak onto a saddle at the junction with the Yalung Glacier (5,650m). From here it takes about 4 and half hour climb to the top depending on snow conditions.

The Rolwalling Trek

The trek through Rolwaling has everything that trekking in the Himalayan has to offer. This trek starts from Lamsungu or Charikot and in the beginning it goes through the lower valley flanked by terraced fields via farm houses and forested slopes. The high valley of Rolwaling area is inhabited by local Sherpa people. They cultivate maize, barley, potatoes and graze their Yaks herd in the higher valleys below the snow-capped peak. Above the villages of Beding and Na the route comes to the glaciated valleys where lines glacial lakes like Tso Rolpa. After the ascent, the Ramdung trekkers can cross the Tesi Lapcha pas to the Namche bazzar on the Everest base camp route. You can take the side trip to Everest base camp or trek directly to Lukla and catch a plane for Kathmandu from Namche.

Ramdung Go Peak Climbing Detail Itinerary

Day 01: arrival in Kathmandu
Flying to Kathmandu along the northern border of Nepal on a clear day is in itself an exciting and memorable experience. As you fly, the panoramic view of snow-capped Annapurna mountain range greets your sight. After the completion of Visa formalities, you have to come downstairs to collect Luggage and proceed to outside from terminal Building. Please look at your Printed Name and Our Company Signboard Annapurna Foothills Treks & Expedition follows them. Meet our representative and then you will be transferred to hotel. You will be served free welcome drinks, tea or coffee or juice at the time of check in.

The Managing Director or The Manager of company will meet you in hotel and will brief about the trip. You should clear your dues before we proceed for the trip. You are free to relax or explore around the city in the very first day. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
After the breakfast in the morning, our city guide will come to the hotel with vehicles and then we leave hotel to visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, the house of living Goddess Kumari, the ferocious Kal Bhairab, The Red Monkey God and hundreds of erotic carvings. Swayambhunath is the world’s most glorious Buddhist Chaityas. It is said to be 2000 years old.

Boudhanath is a huge Buddhist stupa located about 7 km east of Thamel. It stands on a massive mandala style platform and has features similar to the Swayambhunath, though it is bigger than Swayambhunath in size. It is said that this stupa was built during the 5th Century. Every year, Thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and neighboring countries visit Boudhanath, particularly in winter and Pashupatinath temple. Day 03: Kathmandu (1350m.) to Dolakha (1660m.)
From Kathmandu, we drive to Dolakha through Lamosangu and Charikot by private vehicle. Overnight stay at Tent

Day 04 : Dolakha to Shigati (950m.)
We start today’s trek from Dolakha and walk towards Shigati via Piguti. It takes about four hours. The trail goes through the gravel road and we come across different villages. You need to cross many streams and jungles in this trail. You come to see many orchids, rhododendrons and other vegetation. Overnight stay at Tent

Day 05 : Shigati to Jagat (1440m.)
Then head towards Jagat and it takes about seven hours from Sigati. You go along the river side and flat land. On the way, you come to notice many small villages inhabited by the mixed community. On the trail, we have to cross the jungles several times. We also have to cross the suspension bridge to reach Jagat. It is small town and people from the different cultural background live here. Day 06 : Jagat to Simigaon (2020m.)
Then we go to Simigaon from Jagat. It takes almost seven and half hours. As we proceed forward, we follow the flat path and it ascends and descends through the thick jungle. You cross the suspension bridges several times. You also come across many villages on the trail. Small tea shops and local shops are available on the trail. Then we ascend up to Simigaon and this small village is inhabited by the Buddhist and Hindus. Overnight stay at Tent

Day 07 : Simigaon to Daldung La (3976m.)
It takes approximately six hours to reach Daldung La from Simigaon. You come across beautiful Sherpa village in the trail. This trail is rich in different species of flora and fauna. After this uphill trek, you follow ascending and descending path. At the same time, you enjoy the splendid view of the surrounding. You witness the Yak Naka, a temporary Yak shed, if it happens in the season. Basically, cheese and butter is produced here. Overnight stay at Tent

Day 08 : Daldung La to Beding (3690m.)
From Daldung La, we trek towards Beding which takes about seven hours. The trek slowly goes up through the different species of plants and rhododendron trees. We trek over the suspension bridge over the deep gorge. It makes the trek more delightful. Finally we arrive at a big Sherpa village, Beding. Overnight stay at Tent

Day 09 : Rest day at Beding
Today is the rest day for acclimatization. You can go for a short hike in the surrounding for acclimatization. In the surrounding, the breathtaking views of Gauri Shankar and Tibetan mountain arrest your attention. Overnight stay at Tent

Day 10 : Beding to Na (4180m.)
From Beding, we trek towards Na and its four hours trek. You can explore the upper slopes of the valley for snow today. You can also visit the nearby glacier too. The trek goes up along the river bank. This place is very open and it offers fresh air and charming sound the river. As the trek proceeds forward, you come across the panoramic view of the mountains. In addition, we also come across the Sherpa village and explore their specialties. Overnight stay at Tent

Day 11 : Rest Day at Na
Then the trek further goes towards Ramdung Go. You witness the mountains such as Gauri Shanker, Menlung, Yalung and the mountains of the Tibet on the trail. At the end, you arrive at Yalung glacier camp today. Overnight stay at Tent

Day 12: Na (4180m.) to Yalung Glacier (4750m.)
Trek from Na (4180m.) to Yalung Glacier (4750m.) which takes about six and half hours. The trek ascends high glacier walk with the land enriched with white ice all over with crampon and ice sacks. You will be staying overnight in the Yalung Glacier high camp.

Day 13: Yalung Glacier to Ramdung Base Camp (5150m)
Trek from Yalung Glacier to Ramdung Base Camp ( 5150m) and it takes about six hours. You trek uphill until you reach Yalung Danda and then you trek steep ascent path to Base Camp. The trail you pass through is of rocky glacier. . You will be able to witness the various views of mountains like Gauri Shanker, Menlung, Yalung and the mountains of the Tibet.

Day 14 : Ramdung peak and back to Yalung Glacier (4750m)
Climb Ramdung peak and back to Yalung Glacier (4750m) which takes about nine hours. At summit you can have panoramic views of Gauri Shankar, Menlung, Yalung, Pigphero go shar peak, Numbur Himal, Yalung peak and the mountains of Tibet

Day 15 : Yalung Glacier to Na.
Trek from Yalung Glacier to Na. The trial descends down back to Na; you will be able to enjoy the scenic beauty of the environment.

Day 16 : Rest in Na.
Rest in Na. You will be preparing for the trek to Tso Rolpa Lake side.

Day 17 : Tso Rolpa Lake (4540m.)
Trek to Tso Rolpa Lake (4540m.) You will be trekking through the flat and gradually up path. You will be able to witness the beautiful Natural lake filled with the chilling water of the glaciers.

Day 18 : Tso Rolpa to Trakarding Glacier (4800m.)
Trek Tso Rolpa to Trakarding Glacier (4800m.) Early morning you will walk through the glaciers throughout the day and will be able to experience the new enchanting beauties that would add extra dimensions into your trial.

Day 19 : Trakarding Glacier to Tashi Lapcha Pedi Camp (5755m.)
Trek from Trakarding Glacier to Tashi Lapcha Pedi Camp (5755m.) The trail will still be ascending through some rock climbing and a gradual walk on the glacier. You will camp into Tashi Lapcha Pedi Camp today.

Day 20 : Tashi Lapcha Pedi to Tashi Lapcha Pass (5755m.) to Tashi Cape
Climb from Tashi Lapcha Pedi to Tashi Lapcha Pass (5755m.) to Tashi Cape. You will climb up the Tashi Lapcha Pedi and cross the Tashi Lapcha Pass through Tashi Cape. The trial will completely be over the snow straight up and then steep down towards Tashi Cape.

Day 21 : Tashi Cape to Thyomgbo (4350m.)
Trek from Tashi Cape to Thyomgbo (4350m.) Today you will be experiencing a bit easy glacier walking. The trail descends down towards Thyomgbo.

Day 22 : Thyomgbo to Thame (3820m.)
Trek Thyomgbo to Thame (3820m.) Early morning you will trek don to Thame. This trail gradually descends and you will have an added experience of easier trail and will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of the environment.

Day 23 : Thame to Namche Bazaar (3440m)
From Thame, we trek to Namche Bazzar. In this point, you get your first glimpse of the peaks of the Khumbu region such as Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. After passing several villages and numerous teashops, the trail further descends steep towards the bridge over the Thamo.

You feel very exhausted due to the rough path; the trek still offers numerous other attractions such as the chirping sound of the birds and scenery mountain views. This makes your trek more exciting. You come to notice several villages and teashops in the trail. The way further goes to Namche bazaar and this path involves lots of ups and downs. While walking in the trail, the thick forest, scenery and mountain views arrest your attention right away. Overnight stay at Tent

Day 24: Namche Bazzar to Lukla
Boosted by all our new red blood cells, we rush down the footpath going to Sagarmatha National Park gate, in Jorsale. Later, Lukla's footpath leads us through the first villages we saw two weeks ago : Gumila, Phakding, Choplung. The high peaks disappear behind the hills. In Lukla, This last evening in the mountains is the ideal opportunity for a farewell party with the sherpa guides and porters, where you can sample some chhang, try Nepali and Sherpa dance and look back on a memorable trekking experience and staffs are expecting for precious Tips. Day 25: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu You take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu . Over Night stay in Hotel

Day 26: Sight seeing in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, our city guide reaches in Hotel with Vehicles, then we drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Bhaktapur is one of the oldest cities in Kathmandu valley. It is well known as Living Museum. Old brick paved enclave of old Royal palace, Nyathapola Temple, Datatriya temple, exquisite artwork offers a picture of the grandeur of medieval Nepal. And Patan is located 7 km away from Kathmandu, this city has many 15th to 17th century, Hindu and Buddhist, monuments built during the Malla dynasty. The most important area with many monuments is the Patan Durbar Square. (Culture program) Over night stay at Hotel.

Day 27: Kathmandu – departure
Transfer to international airport for your final departure. The trip ends, our Airport Representative will drop you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight departure from Nepal
